This is a dry forest park and seed orchard in the heart of the dry forest lands on Hawaii Island. We grew the community of species for this ecosystem to represent a model park for these lands.  The native species are perfect, the look and feel of the land is true Hawaii.  Introduced species seem out of place here.  We are allowing wildflowers to grow and are using mulch to support and build the soil.  The leaf litter from the trees make lovely mulch.
